At Kids Planet Academy West Pennant Hill Centre, we celebrate childhood and diversity.

Our childcare centre is a welcoming and nurturing space where each child is immersed in a rich tapestry of educationally interactive experiences – a space where children are supported to be their own, unique selves, growing and developing a sense of belonging and empowerment. We know that the best thing we can do for your child is to support them to grow and develop in a safe, unhurried, nurturing and challenging environment. Our centre has well-equipped and designed learning areas that are constantly changing to respond to the children’s play ideas, needs, interests, and projects that they are involved in on a daily basis.

Our play-based program provides a wide range of curriculum experiences across all learning areas. In our centre, children will be guided to explore art, music, dance, movement, science, numeracy, literacy, and social sciences. Our education programs illustrate our professional commitment to inquiry and interest-based teaching and learning. Educators respond to the individual needs, interests and experiences of each child.

We also believe as children respond to the world around them, we can better support them to become all they desire to be, by sparking in them a love for lifelong learning. We believe children are citizens who belong to the community and the global world. We provide our children with opportunities to see and explore the world beyond the gate and exercise their citizenship in the local community.

As an educator with a background in Psychology, 15 years of management experience and a wealth of experience in Early Childhood Education, my teaching philosophy is deeply rooted in understanding the developmental and psychological needs of young learners. I believe that effective teaching is a dynamic process that fosters both cognitive and socio-emotional growth, providing a solid foundation for a lifetime of learning and well-being. I am committed to creating a positive and supportive learning environment that empowers each child to become a confident and lifelong learner.

I feel that by providing children with an inspirational learning environment based on their interests, and the experiences of educators, family, and community, we are able to instil a love of learning which they will carry with them as they transition to school and on through the rest of their lives.
In my previous role as a Nature Pedagogy Consultant, I have introduced weekly Bush School
days across multiple Early Learning Centres and facilitated a Bush Playgroup in the
Cumberland State forest for a year. This process has provided me with a valuable learning
opportunity through the process of benefit risk assessments, planning for children’s learning
and safety, as well as an amazing tool for ongoing reflection of teaching techniques (such as
focusing on the journey, not just the destination). I feel that Nature Pedagogy supports the
development of environmental stewardship of the future - people protect what they love.
I look forward to continuing to support the educators at Kids Planet Academy West Pennant
Hills as we provide a safe and inspiring program for the children to learn and grow.
